Welcome to the India Branch
The India Branch of the IMechE was launched on 8 July 2008, by the then President Prof Bill Banks. The Branch is one of eight Branches established around the world.
The Branch was set up to develop a local support network and provide services for our members in India.
With over 400 member currently in India we have set up Panels in Western, Southern and Eastern India to provide support and organise a diverse programme of activities.
We also have a strong network of young members at many universities around the country.
Our aims are to:
- Provide a local presence and point of contact for the IMechE
- Aim to raise awareness of the profession and its role in society to the wider community.
- Raise the profile of the Institution to the general public.
- Organise a programme of activities to engage local engineers (members & non members) and support their professional development.
- Support the development of the membership base in country.
Please also note that member subscriptions can be paid via the Branch as well as direct to IMechE.
