This follows on from the extremely successful Carbon Capture Lecture that was delivered in the Summer.
All are invited to come and contribute to what promises to be a lively and interesting evening.
Non-members also welcome.
Arrive at 18:00 for 18:30 start.
Additional Information:
The generation of power from wind is seen as key component of the UK’s energy policy and focus. Now with a drive to an 80% Carbon Dioxide emission reduction, renewable power schemes are gaining yet more importance. Yet wind continues to be controversial and projects are hard to develop. But the potential in the UK for wind generation is massive some estimates place wind generation potential of the UK at over a million GWh, three times the UK’s needs.
During the presentation James will outline the technical aspects of wind generation, the challenges faced by both developers and engineers of both onshore and offshore wind farms in the UK, and examine the necessity of pursuing wind power.
