Regional and International Operations Department
The Regional and International Network is supported by the staff of the Regional and International Operations Department based at IMechE headquarters in London.
Our main objective is to provide a focal point for all regional and international activity. Support services include:
- Organising training events
- Planning seminars and workshops
- Supervising visits by the IMechE President domestically and Internationally
- Co-ordinating contact details for the Network
- Providing advice and support for the Regional, Overseas and Young Member Officers and Corresponding Members
- Developing and maintaining links with overseas engineering organisations
- Young Member Activities
- Engineering Heritage Hallmark Scheme
- Provide support for the Industrial Liaison Network

Regional Managers
The IMechE has a team of seven IMechE Regional Managers based around the UK and Republic of Ireland. Their role is to raise the profile of the Institution, improve communication between the Regions and HQ and help develop regional initiatives.
The Regional Managers cover the following Regions:
David Barrett: North Western, Northern Ireland and Rep of Ireland
Denis Healy: North Eastern and Yorkshire
Steven Gasser: Midlands and Merseyside & North Wales
Alan King: Thameswey, South Wales and Western
Lara Mallett: East Midlands and Eastern
Sandra Mulligan: Scotland
Claire Maycock: Greater London, South Eastern and Wessex
In addition, Paul Tabern supports the Institutions industrial contacts and Regional Managers and is based at HQ.
