About Us

Welcome to the Norfolk & Waveney Area

Engineering plays a major role in our ever more technological and environmentally concerned society and through a lecture programme we aim to cover a wide range of subjects relevant to East Anglia; and the Norfolk & Waveney Area in particular.  Most lectures are aimed at an audience with a general interest in engineering technology and its application to industry and commerce.

We particularly welcome young people starting out on an engineering career, and those in schools and colleges considering further education in engineering.  Likewise, we invite tutors, careers advisors, parents and others involved with young people to our meetings, or to talk to us for advice.  If we don't have the answer directly, we can refer you to someone who does.

We invite IMechE members to be pro-active with the Area committee.  We are always looking for ideas and speakers for lectures, visits to industry; and not least new committee members to bring new ideas to further the course of our Institution in the Norfolk & Waveney Area.

Please click on the Events link to obtain an up-to-date listing of what's on in our Area.  All events listed are open to non-members and all except social events are free.
