Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) are a requirement in F1 for 2009. One option is mechanical recovery, and Jon Hilton of Flybrid Systems will present a ultra-modern interpretation of the flywheel energy storage system. The Flybrid system is also being assessed for passenger car applications, thus restoring the role of motorsport as a means of "improving the breed"
