09 September 2010 - 10 September 2010 | 09:00 - 18:00
The IMechE symposium will explore the latest developments from industry and academia in powder and particulate solids handling in a number of priority areas of research and innovation including storage and flow, characterisation, pneumatic conveying and mechanical handling.
The focus of the 3rd Bulk Solids Europe conference will be on energy. It is fascinating to realise that on the one hand energy is required to power bulk solids handling systems and that on the other hand bulk solids handling systems are required to supply the coal or biomass for power stations.
Bulk Solids Europe was last held in 2008 in Prague and succeeded in bridging the gap between academia and industry. Experts from all over Europe and even Asia, Australia and the USA met to discuss the latest trends in the bulk materials handling industry. The 3rd Bulk Solids Europe will repeat the success of 2008 and take it even further!
This is an international event for industrialists, researchers and academics in all sectors that handle, store and process powders and bulk materials, from pharmaceuticals and food through plastics, metals and chemicals to power and mining.
The IMechE Symposium on New Frontiers in Bulk Materials Handling is the third in a series of events beginning in 1991 with ‘BULK2000’, followed in 2000 with ‘From Powder to Bulk’. These events give all those involved in powder and bulk handling an opportunity to review the impact made by advances in science and technology to industrial practice and offer foresight into the latest trends and developments by academic and industrial researchers and innovators.
The IMechE Bulk Materials Handling Committee (BMHC) is delighted to work in partnership with Vogel to include the Symposium in the Bulk Solids Europe event in Glasgow and bring the benefits of both to a single audience in what promises to be one of the most important bulk solids handling events in the UK for many years.
