About Us

Welcome to South Wales!

What is It?

It is MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

What does it mean to be a mechanical engineer in society today? What is our responsibility to the future? What are the critical success factors that drive us?

Our decisions often raise more questions than they answer, and the decisions we make shape our careers. When we leave university, we train to become professional engineers. We use our knowledge to improve. Everything we do is integrated into the daily life of society and with time, becomes so ingrained that we no longer see the beauty of what we create. As Young Engineers, the world is our oyster. Engineering is based on universal physical principles that do not recognise geographical boundaries.

In South Wales, we organise events to serve you, the young members. We then extend these events to neighbouring regions, and then national regions and onto the global forum.

IMechE events are incredible networking opportunities. You may solve that problem through discussion, you may meet people who share your interests, you may get a job, you may find resources to help you, you may find it social, you may find it intriguing......but however you find it, IMechE is what you are looking for.

We're always keen to hear from Young Members - Your views, your ideas, drop an email Why not come along to our next event, or the next regional lecture.

See you soon,
South Wales Young Members Panel
